Flu Vaccinations

If you are eligible for this year's flu vaccination, and a patient of Downend Health Group, we now have available appointments for you to book online through https://www.patientaccess.com

Alternatively we can also recommend booking via the NHS App. Following registration you will be able to book an appointment with us, for your vaccination, directly on the App. Further guidance is available at https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/the-nhs-app/

We would like to reassure you that we have good availability of appointments for Flu vaccinations.

If you do not have internet access or are unable to access the NHS App, we ask that you call the surgery on 0117 970 9500 after 2pm Monday-Friday when a member of our team can book this for you. Please be aware that the phone lines are usually very busy and that it might take some time to get through.

We recommend that all our eligible patients are vaccinated, for further information regarding eligibility please visit https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/flu-influenza-vaccine

Whilst we’ve received information that all 50-64 year olds may be eligible for a free flu vaccination as part of plans to protect more people against seasonal flu, these free vaccinations will be subject to vaccine delivery later in the year.

This allows us to focus on those who are in an at risk group, such as pregnant women and people with long term health conditions. They will be given priority and offered the vaccine first; if you are in this category you will be contacted.

If you are aged 50-64 and not in one of the at risk categories you will be made aware in the coming months if you will be able to attend for vaccination. If the programme is extended this is likely to be November or December.
